NTA (National Testing Agency) conducted NEET UG 2023 exam on May 7, 2023. NTA will provide the provisional answer keys for NEET 2023 probably in the 1st week of June, then after the final answer key and NEET 2023 result in the 4th week of June or the 1st week of July. Since the exam is over, most of the candidates are willing to know about the next round of procedures, answer keys from NTA, expected cutoff marks of NEET 2023, last year’s NEET cutoff marks, their expected rank, medical courses and colleges in which they can take admission and the final result, AIQ rank by NTA and the counselling procedure. The Expected Cut Off for NEET 2023 according to paper analysis and Qualifying Marks are shown below. Though this is not the exact NEET Cut-Off, NTA will announce the official NEET 2023 Cut off along with NEET Result.

NEET Cut Off 2023 for MBBS Colleges:
NEET Cut Off for the government medical colleges will be announced by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) once the NEET result is declared. NTA will publish the NEET merit list for admission to 15% All India Quota ( AIQ ) medical seats on its official portal neet.nta.nic.in . Cut-off marks for the remaining 85% of state quota seats will be announced by the different state medical counselling committees.
Candidates who do not get admission to government MBBS / BDS colleges can appear for the counselling of other courses. For different courses, there is a separate counselling process and students have to appear in those separately.
NEET UG 2023 Result Announcement:
The NEET 2023 result will be announced and the scorecard will be released for students at neet.nta.nic.in in the month of May or June. Students will be able to download the NTA – NEET results.
NEET UG 2023 Counselling:
Based on All India Rank (AIR), the NTA will prepare the NEET merit list for 2023 having rank-wise names of candidates who have qualified for the exam. The merit list will be then sent to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of MCC for conducting NEET UG 2023 counselling for 15% AIQ for MBBS / BDS courses in all state medical colleges, seats in deemed, 100 % seats in central universities, ESIC, AFMS, and central pool seats.

In the state medical colleges, the remaining 85% of state quota seats will be allotted by state-wise state counselling committees based on the marks and rank obtained in NEET UG 2023 examination. Every state-wise state counselling body will make the state-wise merit list for NEET based on the cutoff scores. The state counselling body will also be responsible for giving admission to private medical/dental colleges located in a particular state.

1. What is the qualifying percentile of the NEET 2023 cut-off?
Ans. NEET 2023 cutoff is the minimum qualifying percentile marks (not percentage) to be secured to pass the entrance test.
2. Will NEET 2023 cutoff be lesser than last year?
Ans: The cut-off of NEET UG 2023 might be reduced if a good number of candidates don’t secure the minimum qualifying percentile. But based on the difficulty level of this year’s NEET paper, it is estimated the cut-off may be increased this year.
3. If a student pass NEET, then can he/she participate in the counselling process?
Ans: Yes, Candidates passing the NEET test will be eligible to take part in the counselling process. It must be noted that merely qualifying for NEET does not ensure admission to get a medical or dental seat.
4. Why is the NEET Cut off percentile remained equal although the Cut off marks vary every year?
Ans: NEET Cut off percentile is already fixed to the 50th percentile of the marks for unreserved category candidates and 40th percentile marks for the reserved category candidates like SC/ST/OBC etc. The percentile is based on the relative score of all the candidates who have appeared in the exam. Thus, the corresponding marks to the percentile differ each year as the marks of the candidates are also different.
5. What was cut off for the previous year’s NEET UG 2022 exam?
Ans: Last year, the NEET cutoff passing marks for the general category was in the range of 715-117, and for SC/ ST/ OBC it was 116-93.
6. Is obtaining the NEET 2023 cutoff percentile ensures admission to the medical and dental colleges in India?
